Object Intervals, ELI5

A Mirage soToken is an ERC-20-style token with an object layer attached to it.

The simple rule is:

You need enough token balance for the interval before an object can stay active.

If a project sets the interval to 10 tokens, then one active object needs 10 tokens. Two active objects need 20 tokens. Three active objects need 30 tokens.

Why the app warns you

Token swaps can change your object support.

If you swap away too many tokens, your wallet may fall below the interval. Mirage and other supported services catch up on resync and show the object state correctly.

  • For a LOA, the object can become Dormant until enough token support comes back.
  • For a BOA, the object can be unbound, burned, or handled by the BOA policy chosen at launch.
  • For token-only buys after the object cap is reached, you still receive tokens, but no new object is created.

Buying an object

Buying a listed object is not just an art purchase. The object is still tied to token support.

Before buying an object, your wallet should have enough token balance for one more interval. If it does not, Mirage disables the buy button and tells you how many more tokens are needed.

Example:

  • Interval: 10 tokens
  • You already have 1 active object
  • You want to buy 1 more object
  • You need 20 tokens total support after the buy

Buying from an ITO

An Initial Token Offering sells token intervals. If object supply remains, the sale also tries to give you the matching object in the same transaction.

If the object cap is already used up, the sale can continue as token-only. This is intentional. A creator may want a large liquid token with only a few rare LOA or BOA objects.

  • soTokens: the parent category for LOAs and BOAs.
  • LOA: the liquid-object path where unsupported objects go Dormant.
  • BOA: the stricter bound-object path.
  • Launchpad ITO: how token interval sales work.
  • Marketplace: how object listings and purchases work.
  • Glossary: quick definitions for interval, support, sync, LOA, BOA, and soToken.

I only want a normal token

Mirage also has expanded ERC-20 tokens: regular ERC-20 launches with commonly used options such as capped creator minting, burn support, permit, votes, and optional transfer cooldowns.

These are not LOA or BOA soTokens by default. They do not have object intervals unless a creator builds soToken support separately.
